June 2010
Hi again all,
I still can’t believe the weather is holding out so good, even as I am writing this its CAVOK and extremely warm so I am really looking forward to the long weekend.
It’s been a fabulous flying month for me getting a lot of hours under my belt. I think my most memorable trip this month was Donegal, it was just an amazing flight.
It’s a really nice place to fly into and everyone at the airport there was ever so friendly, I would recommend it to anyone who is hour building as a destination. Believe it or not this month was also a first for me as it was the first time I ever took my mother with me on a trip, that was a feat in itself as she had always said that she would most definitely never get into an airplane with me......well she did.....and it was so funny.
I noticed that she was surprisingly quiet during the flight and afterwards she told me that the reason she did not speak was that she thought the air traffic controller could hear every word she said, so she wouldn’t talk!
After that flight I found there was a queue of people lined up to fly with me, aunts, uncles, cousins, everyone.....once my mother had told them how amazing it was.
On another flight I ended up taking my aunt to Knock but unfortunately the airport was practically closed when we got there and the only thing opened was the information desk to pay for my fuel.
So I only have 4 hours left to do and that’s all my PIC hour building finished.
I have already started my briefings on the twin and already I can see there is a mountain of work ahead of me, but I am really looking forward to it.
Now with the summer months I am off work from teaching at my school in Cork so I hope to get the CPL out of the way.....that’s the plan anyway.
That’s it again until next month and keep the emails coming.
