Our Multi-Engine Class Rating course

This course compires of a minimum of 6 hours flight traning.

  • 2 hours : 30 minutes of instruction will be normal multi-engine operations.
  • 3 hours : 30 minutes of instruction will be on asymmetric operations and engine failures.
  • There is then a minimum of 5 hours ground school with a written exam at the end.

   Other Requirements

  • At least a PPL
  • A minimum of 70 hours as pilot in command.

This rating allows you to fly a multi engine piston aircraft under visual flight rules. Here at Atlantic the multi engine rating is flown on a Piper Seneca PA34

Although there is a flight test for this rating, it is done in conjunction with the Commercial Licence flight test.

Many students find the transition from single engine to twin engine both challenging and rewarding. It is officially the beginning of the commercial training and allows you a certain insight into airline and multi crew conditions
